PMC Ammo
PMC: Creating A Legend
Precision Made Cartridges (PMC) is a division of Poongsan Corporation, a South Korea firm established in 1968 that specializes in the production of titanium, copper and other metal materials. It didn’t take long for its products to earn an enviable and global reputation for performance, quality control and innovation.
The success story is a noteworthy one for a youthful South Korea, but the lack of a signed peace treaty to officially end the Korean Conflict has placed national security at risk. Tensions have always remained high and the oppressive dictatorship to the north chronically signals hostilities are about to resume. Among the South Korean government’s responses is an emphasis on self-reliance and, when possible, domestic production of materials needed for the democracy’s defense.
Angang Ammo Plant
Small arms ammunition plays a critical role, and Poongsan addressed the situation in 1973 when it opened the Angang ammunition factory. The corporate expertise showed and because virtually every component in their cartridges is manufactured in a Poongsan plant, it maintains 100-percent quality control over everything coming in, and going out, of its doors.
It wasn’t long before excess inventory found its way to the commercial market and the loads quickly gained favor with recreational shooters. That fast-growing reputation for reliability and accuracy increased demand and the company officially opened a Texas-based PMC Ammunition headquarters in 2013.
American Proud
PMC isn’t Poongsan’s first American endeavor. That honor goes to Cedar Rapids, IA-based PMX Industries, which opened in 1992. It specializes in the production of precision metal products and develops customized materials for different applications.
The company has never lost sight of the sacrifices made by U.S. servicemen and women during the Korean Conflict, either. In 2010 it paid for and erected a memorial to the 507 Iowa natives who died in the war. Former Secretary of State Colin Powell was a speaker during the dedication, which took place on the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the hostilities. The monument is in the city’s Veterans Memorial Park.
Poongsan America is the company’s other U.S.-based firm. In 2002 it opened doors in Los Angeles, and today it offers those familiar metal raw materials, in addition to machinery, including some tailored to produce cartridges.
Quality First Mindset
Today, plants in Angang and Busan, South Korea, produce ammunition for the company. Both employ a vertically integrated manufacturing system to ensure the kind of quality control—from raw material to finished product—that translates to firing-line performance. The propellants are even produced by Poongsan.
PMC makes and exports more than 40 different types of sporting ammunition today, and its commercial offerings undergo the same stringent testing as its military loads. All the cartridges meet U.S. mil-spec standards, as well as those published by SAAMI. The strict standards even apply to the ammo in the company’s ever-popular bulk packs and all brass is reloadable and primers non-corrosive.
The company’s 2018 annual report highlights some of its environmentally friendly efforts, too. “Poongsan is dedicated to developing environmentally friendly ammunition using frangible projectiles and nontoxic primers,” it explains. “These primers contain no heavy metals…and actually exceed current EPA standards. Spectrographic analysis of primer residue shows only trace amounts of potash, which is harmless and actually acts as a fertilizer.”
PMC Bronze Ammo
The PMC Bronze lineup may be budget friendly, but there are no compromises in its quality control or performance. If you practice a lot or compete with regularity, this brand is an ideal solution.
At least one load is available for most popular pistol chamberings, and long-gun owners who need to feed their .50 BMG, .308 Win, .223 Rem or 7.62x39 mm are also in luck. Interestingly, different bullet designs and weights are also available in the line. In .45 ACP, for example, the company offers 230-grain FMJ loads, but also a 180-grain JHP—all under the same Bronze label.
PMC X-TAC
Tested by militaries across the globe, this line of cartridges from PMC is tailored for slightly more demanding use. Its available 5.56 NATO loads with a 55-grain bullet or 62-grainer that emulates the U.S. military’s M855. That version even has green paint applied to the steel bullet tip to ease identification and moisture-blocking sealant applied around the primers.
The 7.62 NATO X-TAC version comes with a 147-grain FMJBT bullet. Performance is similar, if not identical, to M80 ball ammo.
PMC X-TAC Match
If you’re serious about making those long-distance connections, look no further than the company’s X-TAC Match. In the .223 Rem version the 77-grain projectile is made by Sierra Bullets, arguably one of—if not the—premier manufacturer of precision bullets today. The loads are also available in .308 Win and .50 BMG Bullet weights are 168- and 740-grains, respectively.
PMC Battle Packs
Preppers and survivalists aren’t the only ones who realize the benefits when bulk-packaged ammo comes in vacuum-sealed, waterproof polymer packs tough enough to tote into the field and defy the elements. Compact storage and organization are other advantages, but the cost savings is one of the biggest reasons for PMC Battle Pack popularity.
Battle Pack round count varies between 1,000 and 120, depending on chambering and/weight. Obviously, price per cartridge goes down with the larger volumes, but quality never varies. Inside you’ll find the same tested and trusted PMC Bronze cartridges, and even 5.56 NATO loads from the X-TAC line.
PMC Ammo Cans
PMC also offers classic-looking G.I. Ammo cans chock full of its Bronze .223 Rem and .50 BMG loads. That’s 100 rounds of 660-grain, FMJ tipped fodder in the latter case, complete with links and, naturally, there’s no doubt you’ll find plenty of storage uses for that metal case once it’s empty.

PMC 9mm 147 Grain FMJ – 1000 Rounds
$279.85Manufacturer PMC Condition New Bullet Weight 147 Grain Bullet Type Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Use Type plinking at the range Casing Type Brass Quantity 1000 Ammo Caliber 9mm Luger (9x19) Manufacturer SKU 9H Primer Type Boxer Magnetic No UPC Barcode 90741569070297 Cost Per Round 28¢ per round There are two ways to get your paws on PMC’s 9mm ammunition. The first is to join the South Korean military, which we imagine would be a good way to make lots of new friends. But it would also be kind of inconvenient, which is why we recommend the second way: buy it from Widener’s!
This ammo was recently manufactured for the commercial market, and has the untarnished reloadable brass cases and noncorrosive Boxer primers to show for it. It is loaded with 147 grain full metal jacket projectiles, which contain no steel and therefore can’t attract a magnet.
No standard pressure 147 grain 9mm cartridge is capable of delivering a supersonic muzzle velocity out of a pistol barrel. That’s why this ammo is just a touch quieter to fire than average, and also why it’s suitable for suppressed firearms. The 147 grain bullet’s lower muzzle velocity does mean it drops faster downrange, but at least the bullet will never develop a wobble as a result of transitioning from super- to subsonic. It was never supersonic to begin with! -

These packs are easy to store and transport without an ammo can, and contain standard pressure ammunition suited for a wide variety of 9mm Parabellum pistols.
Each cartridge in this case fires a light 115 grain full metal jacket bullet at a high muzzle velocity of 1,150 feet per second, producing typical 9mm handling characteristics including good accuracy and moderate recoil.
PMC ammunition is loaded in South Korea by Poongsan, a defense contractor that manufactures its own primers and propellant to ensure better quality control. -
PMC 9mm 147 Grain FMJ – 50 Rounds
$15.85Manufacturer PMC Condition New Bullet Weight 147 Grain Bullet Type Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Use Type plinking at the range Casing Type Brass Quantity 50 Ammo Caliber 9mm Luger (9x19) Manufacturer SKU 9H Primer Type Boxer Magnetic No UPC Barcode 741569070294 Cost Per Round 31.7¢ per round It’s okay to admit when you have a problem – unless it’s something embarrassing, in which case you’re better off keeping it a secret until the day you die. But running out of 9mm range ammo is nothing to be ashamed of! If it can happen to you, then it can happen to the best of us.
Here. Let’s put an end to your 9mm deficiency. We’re going to ship you as many boxes of PMC 147 grain full metal jacket ammunition as you want. That way you’ll be able to experience similar performance to your 147gr self-defense loads, as well as listen to reports that aren’t accompanied by sharp supersonic cracks. These rounds’ FMJs are also perfectly steel-free, so you have nothing to worry about if your range hates magnetic ammo.
PMC’s state-of-the-art factory in South Korea turns raw brass into reloadable cases, and mixes up the magic chemicals needed to produce noncorrosive Boxer primers too. This ammo may not come in hermetically sealed packaging, but that just gives you an excuse to fire it all the same day you get it. And then you’ll be out again. And then you can come to Widener’s again! It’s a perfect cycle. -

PMC SFX 9mm 124 Grain JHP – 1000 Rounds
$438.85Manufacturer PMC Condition New Bullet Weight 124 Grain Bullet Type Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Use Type home defense Casing Type Brass Quantity 1000 Ammo Caliber 9mm Luger (9x19) Manufacturer SKU 9SFX Primer Type Boxer Magnetic No UPC Barcode 20741569010782 Cost Per Round 43.9¢ per round PMC. They’re the chief small arms ammo supplier to the South Korean military. They’re also a major supplier of small arms ammo to the international commercial market. When a big dog like PMC resolves to manufacture 9mm ammo in accordance with existing law enforcement protocols, you can be darn sure it’s effective at the all-important job of personal protection.
PMC’s SFX series cartridge showcases their SFHP jacketed hollow point projectile. It achieves up to 2X terminal expansion courtesy of its core and jacket’s integrated flutes and ribs. Its ogive and propellant are both engineered to promote the most reliable feeding possible in a semi-automatic handgun or carbine. And because the 124 grain SFHP has a lower muzzle velocity of 1,126 fps, you’ll have less recoil and accompanying muzzle rise to accommodate while you’re firing in defense of your life.
PMC is a subsidiary of the Poongsan Corporation. It is one of South Korea’s preeminent metal working machinery manufacturers, and the reason why PMC’s bullets and virgin brass cases are so consistently high in quality. This ammo is neither corrosive nor magnetic – but it is most certainly reloadable. -

Ammo was nicely boxed and performed great.
-
It was low priced. But I was pleasantly surprised that it was boxed well in 20 round boxes and it looked great. Performed well too, just as all remington ammo has in the past. I like the brass, its a little heavier than other makes and reloads well.

I was looking for better accuracy than I'd found with _ _ _ _ M193 type ammo and reviews indicated the PMC was the answer. Bought a case to function test a new M-4(gery) for another shooter. This ammo is topnotch-more accurate than the carbine's owner can utilize. I just wish I'd bought two cases and kept one.

200 Rounds Fired So Far: 0 Complaints
-
The ammo came in a convenient packaging of 20 rd boxes. Convenient to load two mags of 10 rd each (in the pathetic state of CT, that's all we're allowed). No issues with the firing or ejection. Tight grouping at 25 yards after sighting in. Haven't tried 100 yards yet. No complaints

PMC Bronze is great ammo. Im on my fourth case right now, and I love it. Zero failures. With my Daniel Defense 16" Carbine and an ACOG I was effortlessly hitting 24" square steel at 500yds with 55gr! I prefer it to other ammo as most other brand 5.56 has the dirty looking annealing burn marks on the neck of the cartridge, but PMC takes the time to polish that off. It doesnt affect function of course, but it is a really nice touch. Quality ammo, buy with confidence.

While not the most powerful handgun round on the market by any stretch of the imagination, the .32 ACP (and the typical pistol chambered for it) is extremely compact and easy to conceal. It is relatively widespread in Europe, where it is generally known by the metric designation 7.65mm Browning. With the rise of concealed carry in the US, the round's American following has improved significantly and quality .32 Auto handguns such as the Seecamp LWS32 and Beretta Tomcat are popular choices for discreet CCW.Customer Reviews

PMC SFX 9mm 124 Grain JHP – 50 Rounds
$24.85Manufacturer PMC Condition New Bullet Weight 124 Grain Bullet Type Jacketed Hollow-Point (JHP) Use Type home defense Casing Type Brass Quantity 50 Ammo Caliber 9mm Luger (9x19) Manufacturer SKU 9SFX Primer Type Boxer Magnetic No UPC Barcode 741569010788 Cost Per Round 49.7¢ per round A great self-defense bullet must do two things: feed without getting stuck, and expand after striking the threat. Precision Made Cartridges (PMC) of South Korea carefully designed their SFHP projectile to do both!
This cartridge is loaded with a 124 grain SFHP. It is a jacketed hollow point with an ogive that is engineered to feed just as efficiently as a round nose FMJ. It significantly reduces the risk of a feeding jam compromising your safety while you’re firing at the threat. The SFHP additionally features integral flutes and ribs – both of which enable it to expand with relatively little force.
This round’s 1,126 fps muzzle velocity is relatively low for its bullet weight, although it still provides sufficient energy transfer for defensive applications at close range. More importantly, it will reduce muzzle rise so you have an easier time keeping your sights trained on the threat.
PMC outfits their SFX series cartridges with new and reloadable brass cases, noncorrosive Boxer primers, and propellant which promotes unerring functionality in all semi-automatic firearms. -

Best M855 I’ve shot
-
I’ve purchased dozens of cases of PMC XTAC M855 because they shoot great in both my 16” 1:7 spin carbine and my 20” 1;9 barrels. Also, they have EXCELLENT brass cases for reloading and last many reloads/firing cycles.
If you want to store these long term, they are sealed completely and should last for decades if stored in a clean sealed container.
BTW, when I started buying these ~10 years ago, they $.17/rnd. Save your brass even if you don’t reload yourself.Review by Pasky2112 (Posted on 8/14/2021)

As a result, this 1000 bulk pack of 5.56mm has a few features that you won't find in usual lots of inexpensive ammo. These XP193 rounds are great for rainy day storage, high round count classes, practice sessions, fun plinking, and building a ballistic chart close to NATO-spec M193.
Like M193, these XP193 rounds feature 55 grain bullets which are compatible with the widest range of barrel lengths and twists of AR, SCAR, ACR, and other 5.56x45mm chambered rifles. The full metal jacket boat tail (FMJ-BT) projectiles feature a toothed cannelure which prevents round setback during rough handling or repeated loading and live ejection; bullet setback can affect accuracy or even cause catastrophic firearm failure. In addition, the reloadable brass casings have a consistent coat of sealant surrounding their non-corrosive Boxer primers which prevents moisture from entering the cartridge and creating dud rounds. The casings are also annealed for added strength to prevent pressure-induced malfunctions and guarantee long brass life for reloaders.
PMC ammunition is produced in South Korea on some of the same tooling and machines used to supply NATO countries with war-fighting ammo. These bulk packs are highly regarded among American shooters for their inexpensive cost, high reliability, and adherence to M193 specification.

When you fire these 38 Super +P, full metal jacket rounds, at 1100 feet per second, your target doesn't stand a chance. PMC 10mm Auto 200 Grain FMJ - 1000 Rounds
$609.85Manufacturer PMC Condition New Bullet Weight 200 Grain Bullet Type Full Metal Jacket (FMJ) Use Type plinking at the range Casing Type Brass Quantity 1000 Ammo Caliber 10mm Auto Manufacturer SKU 10A Primer Type Boxer UPC Barcode 90741569050763 Cost Per Round 61¢ per round After the 1986 FBI shootout in Miami and the tragedy that happened there, the FBI decided it was time for a new handgun. In 1989, they adopted the 10mm Auto for a short time. It was great because of its stopping power and damage ability, but many officers did not like the heavy recoil, and the round was eventually replaced with the 40 S&W, which some proponents of the 10mm Auto like to call the 40 "short and wimpy."
In all reality though, if you can take the recoil, the 10mm Auto is a fantastic firearm. If you're looking to get some shooting in with your trusty sidearm, you can't miss this deal on one thousand, FMJ, 200 grain rounds. These brass cased, boxer primed rounds are reloadable, helping you save even more money. With a muzzle velocity of 1050 fps and the trusted reliability and accuracy of PMC, you will be hitting the target every time. Pick up this deal today!
